INFO:
Speaking of products not withstanding open sell environments, here's a repost from last year when we were in NOLA and noticed what happened to the Makeup by Mario Gondala. A great remindwr that cream products like @makeupbymario's cream bronzers can dry out in store if the samples are left open and exposed to intense direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. We noticed this @sephora in Nola. When the product is exposed to air, excess humidity and sunlight the product can dry out, leading to shrinkage and losing the texture of the product. This can result in a false first impression When you swatch the cream bronzer for example if there is evidence of shrinkage. Fading of shades can also happen, it's important just to be aware, that this has more to do with climate in many cases and how the product is stored than the actual product itself. There are instances when a product itself fails, not as common at all. You can try and scrape a bit off the top of the tester to get a more accurate swatch but even then sometimes the product's integrity has been too compromised.
